3. Sumo

Sumo is a form of wrestling originally from Japan. In Japanese, sumo means “to fight back”.
The aim of the fight is to push the opponent out of the circle so that he touches the ground with any part of the body outside the straw rope. Or to bring him out of balance so that he touches the sand bottom with a part of the body other than the soles of the feet within the circle. A single fight usually lasts only a few seconds; several hundred fights take place in a typical tournament. There are six major tournaments a year. Three in Tokyo, one in Osaka, one in Nagoya, and one in Fukuoka, Kyushu.
A tournament lasts fifteen days, everyone fights against a different opponent once every day. The winner is the one with the most victories over defeats.
