11. Shinmoedake Vulcano – Eruption 2011

The 2011 eruptions began on 19 January. On 26 January, at 7:30 AM, increased eruption activity spewed ash over the surrounding area.

The following video is from January 26, 2011, in the meantime there have been additional eruptions. On February 1st 2011 one of the explosions was felt in Miyazaki, about 70 km away.

ANN News from Japan: Various explosions generated high pressure waves, according to informed sources, to an extent of more than 400 Pascals, whereby in the area even 100 Pascals of very fine disks can break. (Pascals = A Pascal is the pressure that a force of one Newton exerts on an area of one square meter). In the video, residents are concerned about the effects.
